Baharou Ushijima

Ushijima has a rough, imposing manner that fits Seibu's Wild West image. His football style is similarly direct: rather than depending on elaborate deception, he wants to establish control of the opposing lineman and break through physically.

He takes his role seriously enough to develop a specialized technique during Seibu's American training period. While the team's more famous players dominate attention on offense, Ushijima focuses on giving Seibu a stronger defensive front.

Ushijima's 104 kg frame and 120 kg bench press make him one of Seibu's principal power players. He plays on the defensive line, where he can engage blockers directly rather than attempting to match the speed of Seibu's skill-position stars.

His signature Dual Bison Horn uses both arms in sequence to overpower a blocker. He strikes from one side and follows with an upward attack from the other, using the two movements like the horns of a charging bison to break an opponent's control.

He also develops an airborne variation intended to counter players attempting to pass over him rather than through him. His techniques depend on securing physical control, meaning opponents who disrupt his timing or prevent him from establishing his grip can neutralize much of their effectiveness.

Ushijima becomes more prominent as Seibu prepares for stronger tournament opposition. The Wild Gunmen are already renowned for the offense created by Kid, Tetsuma and Riku, while Ushijima gives the roster a specialist capable of applying similar pressure from the defensive line.

His American training produces the Dual Bison Horn, which he brings into Seibu's tournament games as a means of destroying blocking formations through upper-body control.

Against Deimon, the Ha-Ha Brothers answer Ushijima's rough physical technique with the experience they gained from fighting as delinquents. Juumonji in particular helps disrupt his approach, allowing Deimon to prevent the Dual Bison Horn from dominating the line.

Shien Mushanokoji quarterbacks the offense that makes Seibu famous, while Ushijima provides the team with a more defense-oriented specialist.

Jo Tetsuma and Riku Kaitani join Shien Mushanokoji among the offensive stars whose abilities contrast with Ushijima's work on the defensive line.
