Personality
Personality
Mimi is energetic, ambitious and intensely nostalgic for the culture of her youth. She uses dated slang, enjoys dancing and frequently references fashions associated with the bubble era, even though the children around her often have no idea what she is talking about.
Her corporate ambitions are substantial. Mimi wants to advance within Goha and takes her assignments seriously, but she is far less cold than the company she represents. Spending time around Yuga's group gradually exposes a genuine enjoyment of Rush Duels that conflicts with her professional obligation to suppress them.
As a mother, Mimi can be strict and embarrassing from Yoshio's perspective, but she cares deeply about him. Their differences over Rush Dueling reveal how easily her roles as parent, executive and duelist collide.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Mimi uses a Bubble Era Deck built around Aqua monsters modeled after late-1980s fashion and nightlife. Dian Keto the Gold-digging Master is her signature monster, supported by cards such as Bubbly Elf and Kanan the Ganguro Swordsmistress.
Her Deck often emphasizes gaining Life Points and using those resources to enable other effects. The extravagant presentation fits Mimi's nostalgia for the bubble economy and its associations with nightlife and conspicuous spending.
Mimi later demonstrates enough versatility to use additional themed strategies, including variants centered on Dian Keto. She is an experienced Rush Duelist even though her corporate duties frequently matter more to the plot than her win-loss record.
Story Role
Story Role
Mimi enters Goha 7th Elementary undercover because Goha Corporation wants information about Rush Duels. Her extraordinarily youthful appearance makes the disguise possible despite her actual age.
She challenges Yuga while attempting to understand and suppress the unauthorized format. Yuga defeats her, but Mimi becomes increasingly sympathetic toward Rush Duels and the children who enjoy them. Her divided loyalties repeatedly complicate later Goha operations.
Mimi eventually rises to the presidency of Goha Corporation after President Goha is removed, only to lose the office when the Goha siblings return. She later continues working within the corporation rather than abandoning it.
Relationships
Relationships
Yoshio Atachi is Mimi's son. Mimi cares strongly for Yoshio Atachi despite their disagreements, particularly over his enthusiasm for Rush Duels.
Yuga Ohdo is initially the subject of Mimi's undercover investigation. Spending time around Yuga Ohdo and his friends gradually changes her understanding of Rush Dueling.
Romin Kirishima becomes one of Mimi's later Rush Duel opponents, while Roa Kirishima also faces her during her continuing involvement with the format.
President Goha occupies the corporate position Mimi hopes to attain. Mimi eventually succeeds President Goha after his removal from office.
