Yoshio Atachi

Yoshio enjoys presenting himself as a hardened survivor in a dangerous post-apocalyptic world. His dramatic vocabulary, poses and clothing transform ordinary situations into the sort of wasteland adventure represented by his Deck.

Behind that performance, he is a friendly child who genuinely loves Rush Dueling. He is initially embarrassed about admitting this to Mimi because he assumes her connection to Goha means she will disapprove.

Yoshio cares deeply about his mother despite the misunderstandings between them. Food is especially important to their relationship, with Mimi's cooking remaining one of the clearest comforts of his home life.

Yoshio uses a Beast Gear World Deck composed largely of EARTH Beast-Warrior monsters. His cards evoke machinery, wastelands and survival fiction, matching the persona he adopts while Dueling.

Beast Gear Emperor Catapult Kong is his principal ace. His Field Spell Beast Gear World strengthens Beast-Warrior, Machine and Dragon monsters while weakening Spellcasters, giving Yoshio's monsters an environment tailored to their offensive style.

He is an enthusiastic Rush Duelist rather than one of Goha City's leading competitors, but he understands the game well and remains active in the community that grows around Yuga's invention.

Yoshio appears when Mimi becomes concerned about changes in her son's behavior. She discovers that the supposedly rebellious activity he has been hiding is his enthusiasm for Rush Dueling.

The resulting misunderstanding brings Yoshio into contact with Yuga Ohdo and his friends. His enjoyment of the game provides Mimi with a personal reason to reconsider the simplistic idea that Rush Duels are merely a problem for Goha Corporation.

Yoshio subsequently becomes part of Goha 7th Elementary's wider supporting cast, appearing at events and continuing to enjoy Rush Dueling as it spreads through the city.

Mimi Atachi is Yoshio's mother. Yoshio initially conceals his enthusiasm for Rush Dueling from Mimi Atachi, but their mutual concern for each other helps resolve the misunderstanding between them.

Yuga Ohdo becomes acquainted with Yoshio through Rush Dueling. Yoshio is one of the many children whose enjoyment of Yuga Ohdo's invention demonstrates its growing popularity.

Lucidien "Luke" Kallister, Romin Kirishima and Gakuto Sogetsu also become part of Yoshio's wider circle through Goha 7th Elementary and Rush Dueling.
