Ariadne

Ariadne has received little individual characterization compared with more talkative Majiks such as Uroro and Bakugami. Its role during the acquisition encounter centers primarily on the mechanics of its trial.

Its spider-like form and cage-shaped abdomen visually correspond to the trapping properties associated with its magic.

Ariadne's trial requires a challenger to destroy the cage incorporated into its body and cut off the horn located within it.

Once acquired, Ariadne gives Ichi access to invisible threads. These threads can be extended around a target and formed into a cage-like restraint, allowing Ichi to immobilize opponents rather than relying exclusively on direct damage.

The ability complements Ichi's hunting style particularly well. Traps, restraints and controlling an opponent's movement are already central parts of the techniques he developed while surviving on Druid Mountain.

Ariadne is encountered around the time Ichi enters the conflict surrounding Bakugami. Before Ichi's arrival, Gokuraku has already attacked numerous Majiks in his attempts to become a witch despite lacking the magical capacity required for acquisition.

Gokuraku's efforts leave Ariadne's trial effectively prepared for someone capable of completing the magical acquisition itself. Ichi is therefore able to acquire the Majik with unusual ease.

Ariadne later becomes useful as a nonlethal control option in Ichi's expanding magical arsenal.

Ichi becomes Ariadne's witch partner and gains access to its invisible binding threads.

Gokuraku Kagami attempts Ariadne's trial before Ichi, continuing his pattern of defeating or satisfying Majik trials despite being unable to acquire the Majiks afterward.

Uroro, Inazuri, Uruwashi and Bakugami are among the other Majiks that become associated with Ichi's growing collection of magic.
