Alexis Leskinen

Leskinen is outwardly cheerful, curious and playful. His limited Japanese produces awkward conversations, and his enthusiasm can make him seem more like an excitable tourist than an internationally respected scientist.

He nevertheless commands genuine academic respect. Maho describes him as childlike in some respects, but his work on neuroscience and Amadeus places him at the center of highly advanced research.

The friendliness also conceals a ruthless capacity for manipulation. His scientific curiosity is ultimately inseparable from strategic interests in memory manipulation and time-travel information.

Leskinen is an accomplished neuroscientist and one of the senior researchers behind Amadeus. His expertise includes memory, artificial intelligence and technologies capable of reconstructing aspects of human personality from stored neurological data.

He has no supernatural abilities. His power comes from scientific knowledge, institutional authority and connections to Strategic Focus, which give him access to personnel and resources pursuing time-travel technology.

Leskinen arrives in Japan to present Amadeus and introduces Okabe to the project built partly from Kurisu's recorded memories. His presence draws Viktor Chondria University's research into the escalating international competition surrounding time travel.

He continues interacting with Maho, Okabe and the laboratory while presenting himself as their academically curious senior.

Steins;Gate 0 reveals Leskinen's involvement with Strategic Focus and his interest in obtaining knowledge from the future. In the anime continuity, his plans involve the conditioning of Kagari Shiina and attempts to secure time-travel information that can reshape the coming global conflict.

Maho Hiyajou is Leskinen's student and research assistant. He supervises her work at Viktor Chondria University and brings her to Japan.
