Aceto Balsamico

Aceto is gentle, polite, kindhearted, and respectful of her family's traditions. She accepts the unusual custom that whoever obtains the Balsamico Ring earns the right to propose marriage to her rather than openly rebelling against it.

She is also capable of making her own decisions once circumstances become personal. Although her father tries to control whom she can see and eventually hires Fairy Tail to capture Velveno, Aceto does not automatically adopt his judgment.

Her response to Velveno's confession shows compassion tempered by responsibility: she is willing to accept his feelings but insists that his crimes still have consequences.

Aceto is not shown using magic or participating directly in combat.

She attends the Magic Dance Ball as its central participant while professional mages and Fairy Tail members provide security.

Her importance to the event comes through the Balsamico Ring and her family's marriage tradition rather than supernatural power.

Aceto welcomes Fairy Tail to Balsamico Castle after her father hires the guild to capture the escaped convict Velveno.

The family expects Velveno to infiltrate the Magic Dance Ball and steal the ring presented at midnight. Under Balsamico tradition, the person who obtains it earns the right to propose to Aceto.

During the celebration, many male guests are too intimidated by Aceto's beauty to approach her. She instead asks Erza Scarlet, dressed in princely attire, to dance.

Velveno eventually reveals himself and takes the ring.

Rather than intending to steal it for money, Velveno wants the ring so he can formally propose to Aceto. The two had known each other while he served the Balsamico family, but Count Balsamico drove him away because of their difference in social standing.

Aceto accepts Velveno's proposal on the condition that he turn himself in and serve the consequences of his crimes. He agrees, and the two promise to wait for one another.

Balsamico is Aceto's father and the person who organizes the Magic Dance Ball while trying to keep Velveno away from her.

Velveno is Aceto's longtime romantic interest and eventual fiancé after he uses the Balsamico Ring to propose to her.

Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, Wendy Marvell, and Elfman Strauss are among the Fairy Tail members hired to protect the event and apprehend Velveno.
