Zhao Qin

Zhao Qin is remembered as a forceful, war-oriented ruler with enormous confidence in the commanders serving him. Rather than controlling every campaign from the capital, he gives his Six Great Generals freedom to wage war according to their own judgment.

That system depends on absolute loyalty. The Six Greats possess enough independent military authority to become threats to the throne, but their personal allegiance to Zhao Qin makes the arrangement viable.

Zhao Qin's strength lies in political and military leadership rather than personal combat. His long reign provides Qin with continuity while generations of generals wage expansionist wars.
