Yuutarou Kurose

Kurose is practical, nervous around Makima, and somewhat blunt. He openly admits that he finds Aki irritating, largely because Aki continues pursuing the Gun Devil despite how impossible the goal appears.

That irritation does not prevent genuine concern. Before returning to Kyoto, Kurose encourages Aki to survive and warns him that everyone in the Special Divisions is abnormal enough to be dangerous.

Kurose also consciously suppresses his natural accent around Tokyo residents, suggesting some self-consciousness about how he is perceived professionally.

Kurose possesses a contract with the Punishment Devil. Like Tendou's contract with the same Devil, its normal price and individual activation method are unknown.

He is an experienced Public Safety Devil Hunter trusted with training responsibilities and high-risk assignments involving Denji.

The series does not show enough of Kurose's ordinary combat style to identify a signature weapon or technique beyond his Devil contract.

Kurose and Tendou assist Makima after the Katana Man attack, gathering prisoners and helping with the shrine ritual she performs against the attackers in Tokyo.

They later meet Aki in the hospital and tell him that he needs a more powerful contract if he wants to remain useful. Kurose escorts him to the Future Devil and later offers surprisingly sincere advice despite criticizing Aki's obsession with the Gun Devil.

During the international assassins operation, Kurose, Tendou, and Subaru are ambushed by three American Devil Hunters before they can meet Denji's main security team. The attackers kill them and use the Skin Devil to impersonate Kurose.

Kurose's body and Punishment Devil contract later appear among the resources Makima uses against the Gun Devil.

Michiko Tendou is Kurose's regular Kyoto partner and accompanies him throughout his major assignments.

Aki Hayakawa receives Kurose's training and advice after the Katana Man attack.

Makima commands Kurose during the shrine operation and later uses his Punishment Devil contract after his death.

Future Devil is the Devil Kurose and Tendou introduce to Aki.

Misa is Kurose's girlfriend, referenced through the personal information later used by an impersonator trying to maintain his identity.
