Yuusuke Takinoue

Takinoue is friendly, enthusiastic and openly invested in his former school. He enjoys watching Karasuno's current players improve and often reacts to their matches like an enthusiastic fan rather than a detached alumnus.

He can be playful and occasionally boastful, although Makoto Shimada is willing to expose less flattering details about their school days. Takinoue remains intimidated by former coach Ikkei Ukai, whose strict practices left a lasting impression.

As an adult supporter, Takinoue is dependable. He gives time and practical assistance to Karasuno rather than limiting his support to cheering from the stands.

Takinoue played middle blocker at Karasuno and continues playing the position with the Neighborhood Association. His height and experience make him useful as an adult practice opponent for the current students.

He also understands volleyball well enough to follow tactical developments from the stands. Together with Shimada, he frequently recognizes techniques and strategic changes during Karasuno's matches.

Although no longer a school competitor, Takinoue retains enough ability to participate in practice games against Karasuno and provide meaningful opposition.

Takinoue appears when Keishin Ukai arranges a match between Karasuno and the Neighborhood Association. He witnesses the emerging quick attack between Shouyou Hinata and Tobio Kageyama and becomes invested in the team's potential.

He and Shimada subsequently attend many of Karasuno's important matches, becoming recognizable members of its support contingent.

When Karasuno reaches nationals, Takinoue continues helping the team from outside the court, including supporting the fundraising effort required to send the club to Tokyo.

Makoto Shimada is Takinoue's fellow Karasuno alumnus and frequent companion at matches.

Keishin Ukai is Takinoue's friend and teammate on the Neighborhood Association team.

Ikkei Ukai coached Takinoue during his school years, and Takinoue retains considerable respect and fear toward him.
