Yuuki Yoshino

Yuuki is cheerful, excitable and highly sociable. She reacts dramatically to both good and bad news, making her an energetic presence in the dormitory's communal scenes. She readily befriends Sōma and enthusiastically supports the accomplishments of the people around her.

Her energetic nature does not prevent her from taking cooking seriously. Yuuki is knowledgeable about animals and game meat and invests substantial effort into maintaining the livestock and ingredients connected to her specialty.

She is also strongly attached to Polar Star. The dormitory is not merely accommodation to her but a home shared with friends whose successes and problems she treats as her own.

Yuuki specializes in wild game. Her cooking draws on animals that require different handling from standardized commercial meats, demanding knowledge of preparation, odor control, texture and the individual characteristics of each ingredient.

She also raises animals around Polar Star, giving her practical familiarity with ingredients before they enter the kitchen. This farm-to-table connection distinguishes her approach from meat specialists focused primarily on butchered premium cuts.

Although she does not receive as many major Shokugeki showcases as Tōtsuki's leading competitors, she remains skilled enough to survive the academy's notoriously severe curriculum.

Yuuki is among the first Polar Star residents Sōma Yukihira meets after moving into the dormitory. She helps establish the close communal life that distinguishes Polar Star from the rest of Tōtsuki.

She participates in the Friendship and Rapport Training Camp and later competes in the Autumn Elections preliminaries, using her game-meat specialty in an attempt to distinguish herself among the 92nd Generation.

When Central begins dismantling Tōtsuki's independent research societies and threatens Polar Star, Yuuki stands with the other residents in opposition. She remains part of the network supporting Sōma and the Rebels during the struggle over the academy.

Ryōko Sakaki is one of Yuuki's closest friends and frequent companions at Polar Star.

Megumi Tadokoro is another close friend and fellow 92nd Generation resident.

Sōma Yukihira becomes Yuuki's friend after joining the dormitory, and she enthusiastically follows his increasingly prominent career at Tōtsuki.

Satoshi Isshiki, Shun Ibusaki, Zenji Marui, Shōji Satō and Daigo Aoki make up the rest of the Polar Star community around her.

Fumio Daimidou is Yuuki's dormitory warden and guardian.
