Yoshikazu Suzuki

Suzuki is kind, supportive and modest. Unlike many people entering Gantz, he has little interest in proving his strength or competing for kills. His priority is surviving alongside the people around him.

He admires Kurono's courage and deliberately tries to learn from him. Their age difference does not prevent Suzuki from treating the teenager as a role model, and Kurono in turn becomes attached to the older man's warmth and persistence.

Suzuki can become discouraged after severe losses, but his instinct remains protective. Even when frightened, he repeatedly places himself between danger and more vulnerable teammates.

Suzuki begins without combat experience but becomes competent with Gantz equipment through training. He practices at Kurono's home and learns to make effective use of the suit's enhanced physical abilities.

He primarily fights with Gantz firearms, using ranged attacks to support stronger close-combat specialists. When necessary, he is also willing to fight physically.

His greatest strength is reliability. Suzuki follows plans, supports other hunters and uses the technology as part of a team rather than pursuing individual scores.

Suzuki enters Gantz after the Shinjuku massacre and becomes one of the few newcomers, alongside Reika Shimohira, who takes Kurono's instructions seriously enough to wear the suit.

He survives successive missions and becomes part of Kurono's increasingly organized team. After earning 100 points, Suzuki uses his reward to revive Masaru Katou rather than leave Gantz himself, allowing Kurono to use his own points to gain freedom.

Kurono's later death damages Suzuki's morale, but he continues fighting with the team. During the Italy mission, Suzuki is killed while protecting Inaba from the extraordinarily powerful statues attacking the hunters.

Kei Kurono becomes Suzuki's friend, leader and role model. Suzuki openly admires Kei Kurono's determination, while Kurono grows deeply attached to the older hunter.

Masaru Katou benefits from one of Suzuki's most selfless decisions. Suzuki spends his own 100-point reward to revive Katou so that Kurono can choose freedom instead.

Reika Shimohira enters the Tokyo team alongside Suzuki and becomes one of his regular comrades.

Daizaemon Kaze and Hiroto Sakurai train and fight alongside Suzuki as the Tokyo team becomes increasingly organized.

Koichi Inaba is protected by Suzuki during the Italy mission, where Suzuki places himself in danger to save him.
