Wilson

Wilson is aggressive, opportunistic and primarily motivated by completing the job for which he has been hired. He is willing to impersonate Amestrian soldiers and endanger civilians to draw his actual target into a confrontation.

He is not portrayed as someone who understands the larger conspiracy surrounding his assignment. Wilson believes he is performing work sanctioned by the military, and the appearance of a State Alchemist fighting against his group confuses him. This distinction separates him from characters who knowingly participate in the Homunculi's plans.

Wilson is an alchemist who fights using specialized equipment rather than conventional firearms. A mechanical apparatus carried on his back launches several small dagger-like projectiles around the battlefield.

Once the projectiles are positioned, Wilson uses them as part of an alchemical attack that produces a large electrical discharge. The arrangement allows him to attack across an area rather than relying solely on close-range transmutation.

He also commands armed mercenaries, including men equipped with conventional weapons. His position makes him dangerous both personally and through the fighters operating under him.

Wilson leads the mercenaries who abduct Rick in an effort to force Scar and the Ishbalan refugees out of hiding. Alphonse and Scar cooperate to rescue the boy, while Edward and Winry Rockbell become involved in the confrontation. Barry the Chopper, operating as Number 66, is also among the mercenary force.

Wilson is surprised to discover that Edward is a genuine State Alchemist, since his own employer has led him to believe that his operation is connected to the military. After his forces are defeated, Wilson confronts Sloth and demands an explanation for being placed against legitimate military personnel. When he threatens to take the matter to King Bradley, Sloth kills him to prevent him from exposing the operation.

Sloth is Wilson's employer for the operation against the Ishbalans. Wilson does not initially understand her true nature or motives, and she kills him when he threatens to report what happened.

Scar is the principal target Wilson hopes to lure into his trap by kidnapping Rick. Scar ultimately overwhelms him during the rescue operation.

Rick is used by Wilson as a hostage to force the Ishbalans and Scar to respond.

Alphonse Elric participates with Scar in the effort to rescue Rick and directly opposes Wilson's mercenaries.

Edward Elric becomes an unexpected obstacle to Wilson's operation. Learning that Edward is a legitimate State Alchemist makes Wilson question who actually authorized his mission.

Barry the Chopper operates alongside Wilson's mercenaries as Number 66 during the hostage incident.
