Violet

Violet is cautious, blunt and suspicious of strangers. Years at Goldy Pond have taught her that hesitation around the Poachers can be fatal.

She cares intensely about the other resistance members and carries considerable anger toward the demons who hunt children for entertainment. Her hostility is grounded in repeated personal loss.

Violet nevertheless accepts Emma once she understands that the newcomer is willing and capable of fighting alongside them.

Violet is an experienced survivor, scout and combatant. Her role as lookout requires her to monitor Goldy Pond, recognize danger and move through the hunting ground without attracting unnecessary attention.

She is trained with firearms and understands the resistance's carefully developed method for killing demons: break the mask, expose the vital eye and fire accurately before the target can recover.

Her small build and agility make her particularly useful for reconnaissance.

Violet was raised at Grand Valley before being shipped to Goldy Pond, where children are released as prey for the Poachers.

She joins the resistance established under Oliver and Lucas, serving as a lookout. When Emma arrives, Violet becomes her first direct contact with the organized resistance.

During the Goldy Pond battle, Violet participates in the coordinated operation against the Poachers and helps fight Nous and Nouma alongside other resistance members.

After Goldy Pond is destroyed, she travels to Shelter B06-32 with the survivors and becomes part of the wider community of escaped children.

Emma initially surprises Violet by appearing in Goldy Pond, but the two quickly become allies against the Poachers.

Oliver is Violet's leader within the Goldy Pond Resistance.

Lucas helps train and organize Violet and the other children for their planned rebellion.

Paula fights alongside Violet during the resistance operation.

Sonya and Sandy are fellow Goldy Pond resistance members who participate in the same coordinated battle.
