Ushiro Omaeno

Ushiro deliberately cultivates an unsettling presence. His long hair, subdued manner and fascination with ghost stories make him seem frightening, and he frequently introduces himself in a way that causes people to think someone is standing behind them.

Despite the presentation, Ushiro is not particularly malicious. He is socially withdrawn and receives less attention than the more prominent members of RoaRomin, but beneath his creepy manner he is capable of behaving normally and cooperating with his friends.

His Rush Duel against Lucidien "Luke" Kallister shows that some of his frightening behavior is performance. Once Luke begins startling him in return, Ushiro becomes visibly more reactive and loses some of his carefully maintained composure.

Ushiro is a musician who plays bass for RoaRomin. His musical ability places him alongside the other performers supporting Roa's career.

As a Rush Duelist, he uses a Zombie Deck inspired by supernatural stories. Monsters such as Hanako's Right Behind You, Spirit Dwelling in the Purple Mirror and Witching Hour Chrysanthemum Doll reference recognizable horror motifs, while his Spells and Traps continue the theme with curses and ominous sounds.

Wicked Shadow - Dark Rooker is his ace monster. Its effect lets Ushiro return it to his hand while destroying an opposing Spell or Trap and inflicting effect damage, allowing him to repeatedly recycle one of his strongest cards.

Ushiro first receives attention when Luke encounters what appears to be a supernatural disturbance at school. The incident leads to Ushiro and a Rush Duel built around the ghost stories represented by his cards.

His appearance also expands RoaRomin beyond Roa and Romin Kirishima, establishing the musicians who perform with the cousins. Ushiro subsequently appears with the band during concerts and events involving Roa.

He remains part of RoaRomin as the series progresses, generally serving as a musician and supporting cast member rather than becoming a major independent rival.

Roa Kirishima is Ushiro's bandleader, and Ushiro plays bass as part of Roa Kirishima's RoaRomin group.

Romin Kirishima is a fellow member of RoaRomin and performs alongside Ushiro.

Getta Taira is RoaRomin's drummer and Ushiro's fellow band member.

Lucidien "Luke" Kallister becomes Ushiro's Rush Duel opponent after investigating the apparently supernatural incidents associated with him.
