Personality
Personality
Miya is serious about making the most of his remaining high-school baseball career. As one of the older prefab players pushed aside by the new varsity system, he continues training even in poor conditions rather than simply abandoning the club.
He is team-oriented on the field. His value comes from executing plays that improve another runner's scoring chances, a role that requires accepting an out when a sacrifice bunt is the best option.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Miya is one of the prefab team's best bunters and is particularly useful in sacrifice and squeeze situations. Akaishi plans around this ability, expecting Miya to move Kou after the latter reaches base so that subsequent hitters can drive him home.
He is also a capable left fielder. His defensive reliability and situational batting make him useful even without the power hitting associated with Seishuu's middle order.
Story Role
Story Role
Miya belongs to the group of upperclassmen left on the prefab squad when Shuugo Daimon takes control of Seishuu's favored varsity program. With their final summer approaching, those seniors train hard for an opportunity to prove themselves.
During the first major scrimmage against Daimon's varsity, Miya plays left field and bats behind Kou. His bunting is part of Akaishi's strategy for surprising a varsity team that dismisses the prefab players as inferior.
After Daimon's removal, Miya becomes captain of the unified Seishuu baseball team for his third and final year. His class later graduates, leaving leadership to the younger generation.
