Toma

Toma is respectful and dutiful toward the Exorcists he supports. He addresses Allen formally as "Master Walker" and continues performing his duties despite having none of the supernatural protection available to an Accommodator.

Like other Finders, Toma understands that his work places ordinary humans directly in the path of Akuma. His willingness to accompany Exorcists into dangerous areas reflects the risks accepted by the Black Order's support personnel.

Toma is an ordinary human without Innocence. He has the field training expected of a Finder, including investigation, reconnaissance and use of the Black Order's communication and detection equipment.

Finders can establish barriers and assist with locating Innocence, but they are not equipped to defeat powerful Akuma directly. Toma consequently depends on Exorcists when combat begins.

Toma investigates the abandoned city of Mater after the Black Order detects Innocence there. He accompanies Allen Walker and Yu Kanda, whose incompatible personalities immediately make the assignment difficult.

An Akuma exploits confusion during the mission by copying appearances. Toma becomes caught in the deception, demonstrating how dangerous Akuma capable of impersonating humans can be even to trained Black Order personnel.

He survives the incident and continues serving the Order as a Finder.

Allen Walker works with Toma during the Mater mission. Toma treats the newly arrived Exorcist respectfully and addresses him as "Master Walker."

Yu Kanda is the other Exorcist assigned to the Mater investigation. Toma has to operate alongside both men despite the hostility between them.

Lala and Guzol are at the center of the mystery Toma's team encounters in Mater.
