Tetsuo Momohara

Tetsuo is persistent and easily exasperated. He claims to have approached Ichigo about the karate club many times, only to discover that Ichigo still does not recognize him.

His annoyance is understandable but short-lived. Beyond his repeated recruitment attempts, the manga gives him too little page time to establish broader traits.

Tetsuo has no spiritual powers or demonstrated awareness of Hollows and Shinigami. He is associated with the karate club, but the manga never shows him training or fighting.

His interest in recruiting Ichigo Kurosaki suggests that he recognizes Ichigo’s physical ability and reputation, though Ichigo consistently rejects the invitation.

Tetsuo approaches Ichigo at school shortly before Ichigo begins training to rescue Rukia Kuchiki. Ichigo asks who he is, prompting an irritated Tetsuo to identify himself and remind him of the repeated karate-club invitations.

He is shown occupying Rukia’s former seat after she has been taken back to Soul Society. The mundane exchange reinforces how abruptly she has vanished from the school’s daily life.

Tetsuo makes no further substantive appearance and was omitted from the anime adaptation.

Ichigo Kurosaki is Tetsuo’s classmate and preferred karate-club recruit. Ichigo repeatedly refuses and does not initially remember him.

Rukia Kuchiki is another classmate during her time in a Gigai. Tetsuo is shown sitting in her former place after she leaves, but no personal relationship between them is established.
