Tatsumaki

Tatsumaki is brash, impatient, hot-tempered, and intensely confident in her own strength. She openly dismisses heroes she considers incapable and reacts badly to being ignored, underestimated, or mistaken for a child. Her abrasiveness is reinforced by the fact that she can usually solve threats through overwhelming force without needing assistance.

Despite her difficult personality, she takes hero work seriously. Tatsumaki responds to major emergencies, protects civilians when necessary, and carries an enormous share of the Hero Association's combat burden. Her hostility toward dependence comes from a deeply ingrained conviction that people must become strong enough to protect themselves.

Her feelings toward Fubuki reveal the contradiction in that philosophy. Tatsumaki wants her younger sister to be safe and strong, but her overwhelming protectiveness frequently becomes controlling, preventing Fubuki from developing on her own terms.

Tatsumaki is one of the world's most powerful espers. Her psychokinesis lets her lift and manipulate enormous objects, restrain targets, create barriers, fly, redirect attacks, and apply crushing telekinetic force directly to opponents.

Her psychic barriers can protect herself and others from catastrophic attacks, while her telekinetic precision allows her to distinguish friendly targets inside complicated battlefields. She can also sense other psychic powers and communicate telepathically.

During the Monster Association conflict, Tatsumaki demonstrates power sufficient to lift the association's enormous underground complex, twist vast portions of Z-City, and battle the fused Psykos-Orochi while simultaneously protecting other heroes. The exertion eventually pushes her body beyond its safe limits.

Tatsumaki initially appears as one of the elite heroes summoned for major Hero Association emergencies. Her impatience and overwhelming confidence quickly establish her as a combatant operating on an entirely different scale from ordinary professional heroes.

She participates in the response to Boros's invasion and later becomes one of the central fighters during the Monster Association operation. Her psychic abilities allow the heroes to reorganize a battlefield that would otherwise trap them underground.

Her battle with Psykos and Orochi becomes one of the decisive engagements of the Monster Association conflict. Afterward, her weakened condition leaves her dependent on heroes she would ordinarily dismiss, challenging her insistence on complete self-reliance.

Later confrontations involving Saitama and Fubuki force Tatsumaki to reconsider how much control she should exercise over her younger sister's life.

Fubuki is Tatsumaki's younger sister and the person she is most protective of. Their bond is genuine but strained by Tatsumaki's belief that Fubuki should distance herself from people too weak to protect her.

Blast rescued Tatsumaki when she was a child and gave her advice about not expecting others to save her. That encounter has a lasting influence on her worldview.

Saitama repeatedly ignores Tatsumaki's authority and survives situations she expects no ordinary hero to withstand, making him one of the few people capable of challenging both her power and assumptions.

Psykos becomes one of Tatsumaki's most important opponents during the Monster Association conflict.

Genos fights alongside Tatsumaki during the Monster Association battle and earns a degree of recognition from her through his willingness to keep fighting.
