Takuzou Onoe

Takuzou is protective of his family's property and takes Kaitou Kid's notice seriously enough to involve law enforcement in protecting the swords. His position as head of the family places him in charge of a legacy whose full significance is not immediately clear even to the people surrounding him.

He is also deeply interested in finding the treasure associated with his grandfather. That interest draws him into a dangerous contest with people who believe the hidden object could have enormous military or financial value.

Takuzou is the president of a major family conglomerate and has the wealth and organizational resources associated with that position. He maintains a valuable collection of historical swords at his Hakodate residence.

He is knowledgeable about his family's history and the legends surrounding the treasure left by the first Onoe family head, although he does not possess all the information required to locate it.

Takuzou has no established exceptional combat abilities. His role in the conflict comes through ownership, family history and access to the swords rather than martial skill.

Takuzou enters the story after Kaitou Kid announces his intention to steal two wakizashi from the Onoe residence. The unusual target puzzles Conan Edogawa because Kid normally pursues large gemstones rather than Japanese swords.

The investigation reveals that Takuzou's swords are part of a set associated with a treasure hidden by his grandfather, Keizaburo Onoe, who was involved in wartime industry.

Takuzou's pursuit of the treasure makes him a target of Brian D. Kadokura and his armed organization. Kadokura's men shoot Takuzou during an attack at the Hakodate police station as they escalate their efforts to seize the clues.

The wider investigation also reveals that Takuzou's father, Tadayuki Onoe, wanted the treasure found and destroyed rather than exploited. That instruction had been entrusted to Ryoe Fukushiro, putting father and son on opposing sides of the treasure's legacy.

Keizaburo Onoe is Takuzou's grandfather and the first head of the Onoe conglomerate. The hidden treasure at the center of the film originates with Keizaburo Onoe.
