Suien

Suien is impatient, arrogant, and intensely power-hungry. He is willing to threaten people from his own village and shows little sympathy even toward former students.

He regards strength as justification for taking what he wants and mocks Shibuki's fear, treating compassion as weakness rather than a quality of leadership.

Suien is a highly skilled Water Release user and an experienced jōnin. He can use Takigakure Style: Watercutting Sword and, in the animated adaptation, Water Formation Wall. The novel gives him additional techniques including Water Armour, Water Clone Technique, barriers, and summons.

After obtaining Hero Water, Suien's already considerable chakra is greatly amplified, making him powerful enough to confront several opponents in succession.

Suien returns to Takigakure with a group of missing-nin and takes villagers hostage, demanding access to the Hero Water. His attack forces his former student Shibuki to confront the fear that has defined his leadership.

After drinking the Hero Water himself, Suien battles Shibuki and Team 7. Naruto ultimately overwhelms him, ending his attempt to seize control of Takigakure's greatest secret.

Shibuki is Suien's former student and eventual opponent. Suien's contempt for Shibuki contrasts sharply with the younger man's concern for his villagers. Naruto Uzumaki becomes the principal force opposing him, while Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno assist in protecting Takigakure from his group.
