Shibuki

Shibuki begins as timid and easily startled, a trait made particularly conspicuous because his villagers regard their leader as a hero. His fear is connected to being pushed into leadership after losing his father at a young age.

Despite that fear, Shibuki genuinely cares for Takigakure, especially its children. When circumstances force him to choose between personal safety and protecting the village, his sense of responsibility becomes stronger than his cowardice.

Shibuki is proficient in Water Release and can use techniques including Water Dragon Bullet and water-based tornado attacks in animated material. He can also use Takigakure's Watercutting Sword technique.

The village's Hero Water temporarily increases a drinker's chakra dramatically, although using it places severe strain on the body.

Team 7 escorts Shibuki back to Takigakure shortly before his former teacher Suien attacks the village in search of the Hero Water.

Shibuki initially struggles to act against his fear, but Naruto Uzumaki reminds him that genuine heroism means protecting the people who matter. Shibuki's response becomes the central character arc of Mission: Protect the Waterfall Village!.

Hisen is Shibuki's father and predecessor, whose example defines Shibuki's understanding of leadership. Suien is his former teacher and later enemy. Naruto Uzumaki pushes Shibuki to overcome his fear, while Fū is a younger Takigakure kunoichi whom Shibuki later protects and teaches about friendship.
