Silk

Silk is compassionate, level-headed, and protective of the people who raised her. Although her biological parents were pirates who abandoned her, she does not adopt a simplistic hatred of piracy.

She is willing to challenge both outsiders and fellow townspeople when she believes their assumptions are wrong.

Silk has no supernatural abilities. She is courageous and capable of acting decisively during dangerous situations but is not portrayed as a superhuman fighter.

Her strongest qualities are leadership, judgment, and willingness to protect her community.

Silk meets Luffy when events involving Crescent-Moon Galley bring the young pirate into her town.

She becomes Luffy's principal civilian ally during the confrontation with Galley and helps clarify the distinction between benevolent "Peace Main" pirates and predatory "Morganeers" used in the prototype.

Monkey D. Luffy becomes Silk's ally after arriving near her hometown.

Galley threatens Silk's community and becomes their common enemy. Shanks is known to Silk by reputation when Luffy speaks about the pirate who inspired him.
