Shizuka Mine

Shizuka is caring and family-oriented, generally providing a calmer presence within the Mine household. She handles Yaiba's unusual behavior with considerably more domestic patience than her daughter.

Her characterization is primarily tied to family life rather than combat. Even as the Mine residence fills with samurai, animals, and supernatural visitors, Shizuka continues functioning as part of the household's everyday foundation.

Shizuka has no established supernatural abilities or specialized combat techniques.

Her role is civilian and domestic, and she does not participate directly in the major sword battles fought by Yaiba and his companions.

Shizuka appears through Yaiba's association with the Mine family. Once Yaiba begins staying at their residence, his adventures repeatedly bring unusual visitors and situations into her home.

She remains connected to Sayaka's adventures from the household while the younger characters travel in pursuit of legendary swords, magical orbs, and supernatural enemies.

Her appearances provide continuity between Yaiba's increasingly fantastical adventures and the family environment to which the characters return.

Sayaka Mine is Shizuka's daughter.

Raizo Mine is Shizuka's husband and head of the Mine household.

Yaiba Kurogane lives with the Mine family after arriving in Japan and becomes closely associated with Shizuka's household.
