Saburo

Saburo is presented as a normal member of Hedoro's affectionate family rather than as the violent monster his appearance leads the humans to expect. His demeanor fits the running contrast established with Hedoro: physically terrifying Dakini can behave with considerably more courtesy than the frightened humans around them.

The limited material devoted specifically to Saburo does not establish a detailed individual personality separate from his brothers. His role works collectively with the family during the bathhouse incident.

As a Dakini, Saburo belongs to a physically powerful Amanto race renowned for large bodies and combat potential. His size alone makes the humans sharing the bathhouse extremely cautious around him.

The story does not give Saburo a substantial individual fight or named technique. It therefore does not establish how his strength compares directly with Hedoro or the other members of the family.

His physical presence is primarily used for comedy, with Gintoki and the Shinsengumi imagining disastrous consequences if they accidentally offend the Dakini visitors.

Saburo accompanies Hedoro's family to the public bathhouse visited by Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi, Isao Kondou, Toushirou Hijikata and Sougo Okita.

The humans have already been competing over the bath before the Dakini family arrives. Their rivalry abruptly becomes secondary as they attempt to survive what they imagine will happen if Hedoro and his relatives are angered.

Saburo participates in the escalating misunderstandings that follow. The comedy depends on the contrast between the family's relatively ordinary bathhouse behavior and the extreme panic of Gintoki and the Shinsengumi.

Hedoro is Saburo's older brother and the best-known member of their family in Kabuki District.

Shiro, Jiro and Goro are Saburo's brothers and accompany the family during the bathhouse visit.

Hedoro's Father and Hedoro's Mother are Saburo's parents and join their children at the bathhouse.

Goro's Son is Saburo's nephew and another member of the large Dakini family.

Sakata Gintoki and Shimura Shinpachi encounter Saburo while bathing and become terrified of offending his family.

Isao Kondou, Toushirou Hijikata and Sougo Okita share the same predicament after the Dakini family enters the bathhouse.
