Selizabeth is composed, proud, perceptive, and accustomed to maintaining authority. She remains calm even when confronting a world-famous thief and takes an active role in protecting the Crystal Mother.

Her commitment to royal duty can create distance between her and Philip. She expects her son to understand the responsibilities attached to their position, while Philip wants reassurance that his mother values him as more than the future of the monarchy.

Selizabeth is also clever enough to anticipate obvious theft methods. Her strategy for hiding the Crystal Mother demonstrates that she understands deception and can create a convincing decoy of her own.

Selizabeth has no supernatural abilities. Her principal strengths are composure, intelligence, and the authority and resources available to her as monarch of Ingram.

She devises an effective method of concealing the Crystal Mother while displaying a fake jewel openly. The trick is good enough to initially mislead Kaitou Kid, demonstrating that she is considerably more difficult to rob than an ordinary jewel owner.

Selizabeth is also willing to confront an intruder directly rather than relying entirely upon her security personnel.

Selizabeth travels aboard the Royal Express while Kaitou Kid announces his intention to steal the Crystal Mother. Inspector Ginzo Nakamori and his officers provide additional security, while Conan Edogawa happens to be aboard the same train.

Kid infiltrates Selizabeth's private compartment but discovers that the topaz she appears to be wearing is a fake. The search for the real jewel becomes the central puzzle of the heist.

Kid determines that Selizabeth has hidden the genuine Crystal Mother inside a glass, disguising it among ice. After taking it, he becomes involved in a more dangerous confrontation when international jewel thief Jackal threatens Philip. Kid ultimately prioritizes saving the prince over completing an ordinary theft.

Philip is Selizabeth's only son and heir. Selizabeth's royal responsibilities sometimes make Philip feel neglected, but protecting him remains more important than any jewel.

Henry was Selizabeth's husband and the former king of Ingram.

Kaitou Kid targets Selizabeth's Crystal Mother and directly challenges her efforts to protect it.

Conan Edogawa becomes involved in the incident aboard the Royal Express and recognizes the larger criminal threat developing around the attempted theft.

Ginzo Nakamori provides police security during Selizabeth's journey and concentrates on preventing Kid from stealing the topaz.

Jackal is an international jewel thief whose pursuit of the Crystal Mother places Philip directly in danger.
