Sawatari

Sawatari is vain, condescending and power-hungry. He treats opponents as inexperienced children and initially assumes his centuries of soul consumption make him untouchable.

His confidence collapses against Mayuri’s experimentation. Once defeat becomes certain, Sawatari begs for his life and offers information about the other Bounts.

Baura moves through solid surfaces by entering an alternate dimension, allowing him to emerge unexpectedly from walls or ground. Anything swallowed enters a stomach dimension that gradually dissolves and absorbs trapped victims.

Baura can store, transport and eject matter while shielding Sawatari. The enormous number of souls Sawatari has consumed enhances both partners but has also accelerated his physical aging.

Sawatari accompanies Kariya into Soul Society and accepts orders to eliminate Gotei 13 captains. He encounters Mayuri Kurotsuchi, whose interest quickly turns their fight into an experiment.

Mayuri tracks Baura’s dimensional movements, paralyzes both partners with Ashisogi Jizou and releases Konjiki Ashisogi Jizou. Its poison kills Sawatari and Baura, whose remains turn to dust.

Jin Kariya is Sawatari’s leader and intended future rival for authority. Baura is his Doll, mount and defensive partner.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi defeats and kills both Sawatari and Baura.
