Sanou Tsushima

Sanou is arrogant about the superiority of Abnormals despite being comparatively ordinary within Class 13. He and Unou describe themselves as effectively the "Normals" among Abnormals while still looking down on ordinary people.

The twins are extremely close and frequently complete or continue one another's statements. Their synchronized reactions make them function almost as a pair rather than two independent personalities during the Flask Plan storyline.

Sanou repeatedly expresses disbelief as Medaka's group overcomes obstacles and Thirteen Party members the twins expect to be insurmountable.

Sanou is classified as an Abnormal, but no individual named Abnormality is established for him.

His role is primarily to guard and operate the Door of Rejection rather than to fight the Student Council directly. The door itself tests entrants before allowing access to the Flask Plan's underground levels.

Sanou and Unou are comparatively unimpressive by Class 13 standards, which is why they describe themselves as the closest thing the Abnormal group has to ordinary people.

Sanou and Unou wait at the Door of Rejection when Medaka and Zenkichi arrive to enter the Flask Plan facility. They explain the door's rules and expect the obstacle to halt or expose the intruders.

Medaka's performance immediately surprises them. The twins subsequently follow the Student Council through the facility, providing commentary as its members confront increasingly powerful Flask Plan participants.

Their repeated astonishment helps establish how far Medaka and her allies exceed the expectations of people already accustomed to Abnormal abilities.

Unou Tsushima is Sanou's twin brother and constant partner. The two Unou Tsushima and Sanou function together as guardians of the Door of Rejection and frequently finish one another's statements.

Medaka Kurokami shocks Sanou by overcoming the Door of Rejection and continuing through the Flask Plan facility.

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi accompanies Medaka when Sanou and Unou first confront them at the door.

Hakama Shiranui coordinates the Flask Plan in which the twins serve.
