Personality
Personality
Ryō is composed and confident in the unusual advantage provided by her tattoos. Because opponents can be incapacitated simply by looking at the designs, she can control a confrontation without relying entirely on conventional Air Treck speed or direct physical strength.
She is deeply loyal to Yasuyoshi Sano, whom she has known since their school years. Her commitment to him continues beyond the immediate Behemoth conflict and ultimately proves stronger than concern for her own safety.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Ryō follows the Gaia Road, although her signature ability is the Oshiroibori tattoo technique. The tattoos are extremely difficult to perceive normally. When an opponent sees their patterns, the visual stimulus produces a hypnotic response that progressively lowers metabolism and can eventually immobilize the target.
The technique earns her the name Gorgon Shell, drawing on the idea of turning those who look at her into stone. It is particularly effective because a fighter normally needs to watch an opponent closely to react to attacks.
Her matchup with Onigiri exposes an unusual weakness. Because he rides upside down, he perceives the tattoo imagery from the wrong orientation. Rather than producing the intended response, the reversed image disrupts the technique and gives him an unexpected advantage.
Story Role
Story Role
Ryō appears as part of Behemoth's elite group during the team's confrontation with Kogarasumaru. Her battle with Onigiri gives one of Kogarasumaru's least conventional riders an individual challenge specifically suited to his bizarre style.
The encounter demonstrates how Parts Wars can be decided by compatibility rather than simple rankings. Ryō's hypnosis is dangerous against opponents who fight conventionally, but Onigiri's upside-down riding inadvertently provides exactly the perspective needed to counter it.
Ryō later remains close to Sano after the Behemoth conflict. When Nike attacks him, she intervenes to protect Sano and suffers grievous injuries in his place.
Relationships
Relationships
Yasuyoshi Sano is Ryō's longtime friend and the person to whom she is most strongly attached. They have known each other since their school years, and she continues working alongside him after their association with Behemoth. She later places herself between Sano and Nike's attack, suffering severe injuries to protect him.
Onigiri is Ryō's opponent during Behemoth's battle with Kogarasumaru. His upside-down riding unexpectedly reverses the effectiveness of her hypnotic tattoos.
Akira Udō leads Behemoth during the period in which Ryō serves among its four strongest members.
Nike becomes an enemy when Ryō intervenes to prevent him from killing Sano.
