Roujo

Roujo is grateful, warm, and observant. Despite the shock of being robbed, she responds to the Forgers' help with sincere appreciation rather than remaining focused purely on her own distress.

She is particularly perceptive about their family dynamic. Loid, Yor, and Anya are still consciously trying to behave like a convincing household, but Roujo interprets their natural concern and banter as evidence that they are already close.

Her brief interaction therefore carries unusual emotional importance despite her small role.

Roujo has no special powers or combat abilities. She is an ordinary elderly civilian.

Her narrative importance comes from perspective rather than capability. As someone with no knowledge of Operation Strix, telepathy, or assassination, she evaluates the Forgers only through the behavior she observes.

The purse incident also demonstrates how ordinary civilians experience the danger and insecurity of Berlint outside the intelligence conflicts dominating the main cast.

Roujo is robbed during the Forgers' preparatory family outing before Anya's Eden interview. Yor immediately pursues the thief, while Loid and Anya eventually help identify and capture him.

Anya uses telepathy to locate the disguised robber in a crowded area, pointing him out indirectly so that Loid can act without learning her secret.

After her purse is recovered, Roujo explains that the money was intended for her grandchild and thanks the family. She observes their interactions and calls them a wonderful family.

That compliment restores some of Loid's confidence. He had spent the day despairing over how poorly Yor and Anya matched his idealized picture of a sophisticated Eden family, but the unsolicited judgment of a stranger suggests that their emotional presentation may be more convincing than he realized.

Loid Forger apprehends the thief carrying Roujo's purse and returns her property.

Yor Forger reacts immediately to the robbery and begins the pursuit.

Anya Forger secretly uses telepathy to locate the disguised thief and guide Loid toward him.

Purse Snatcher steals Roujo's bag before being caught by the Forgers.
