Riana

Riana is dutiful, courageous and uncompromising toward threats to Fiore. She immediately recognizes Zash Caine as a traitor and responds to his intrusion by drawing her sword rather than allowing his former government position to intimidate her. Her command of White Tiger indicates that she is trusted with significant responsibility, particularly because her squad guards an artifact as dangerous as Dragon Cry.

She is also openly emotional when her comrades suffer. After Zash forces her to attack members of her own unit, Riana is horrified by what she has been made to do. She later mourns the White Tiger soldiers lost during the incident and pays respects at their graves.

Riana is an accomplished swordswoman rather than a prominently featured offensive mage. She carries a conventional sword and demonstrates considerable skill with it during the confrontation surrounding Dragon Cry. Her speed and technique allow her to cut down trained soldiers rapidly when her actions are being controlled.

She also displays notable endurance. Riana survives being repeatedly struck and cut during the magically induced fighting among the White Tiger soldiers, remaining conscious despite severe injuries. No named personal Magic is established for her in the film.

Riana leads the White Tiger soldiers guarding Dragon Cry when Zash and Sonya infiltrate the facility. Recognizing Zash, she identifies him as a traitor to Fiore and prepares her squad to stop him. Zash responds by using Evil Eye on Riana and the other soldiers, forcing the affected guards to turn violently against their own comrades while he proceeds with the theft.

Riana is subsequently imprisoned in Zash's dungeon, where Lucy encounters her after also being captured. Lucy later returns to free Riana and the other prisoners after Natsu reaches her. Following the conflict in Stella, Riana visits the graves of her fallen White Tiger comrades and pays her respects.

Zash Caine is Riana's principal enemy in the film. She knows him as a former Fiore official turned traitor and attempts to prevent him from stealing Dragon Cry. His Evil Eye forces her to attack the very soldiers she commands, making their encounter particularly traumatic for her.

Sonya accompanies Zash Caine during the theft. Riana initially treats her as part of the hostile group attempting to seize the protected artifact.

Lucy Heartfilia encounters Riana while both women are being held prisoner. After escaping with Natsu's help, Lucy deliberately returns for Riana and the other captives, earning Riana's tearful gratitude.

Natsu Dragneel indirectly assists Riana by enabling Lucy Heartfilia to escape Zash and return for the prisoners. Riana's strongest established bonds, however, are with the unnamed members of White Tiger under her command, whose losses she later mourns.
