Ratchet Dr.

Ratchet is intelligent but vain, petty, and convinced of his own superiority. He regards his mechanical genius as proof that he deserves political power and reacts poorly when other people fail to show him the respect he expects.

His grandiose ambitions contrast with his frequent dependence on machines and subordinates.

Ratchet is an exceptional inventor responsible for the numerous mechanical devices found throughout Mecha Island. His creations include combat vehicles, powered armor and enormous clockwork mecha.

He personally pilots several machines against the Straw Hats. These include increasingly large powered suits designed to compensate for his limited physical fighting ability.

Ratchet manipulates the Straw Hats into helping uncover the island's secret while pursuing a plan for world domination.

Mecha Island is actually situated on the shell of an enormous turtle. Ratchet attempts to control the creature using giant mechanical cables, but his machines are destroyed during the resulting battle.

Rohba is Ratchet's mother and repeatedly disapproves of his behavior.

Maji and Honki are his principal subordinates, while Gonzou serves his household. Monkey D. Luffy becomes Ratchet's principal opponent.
