Oban

Oban is polite, composed, responsible, and highly professional. His demeanor contrasts sharply with both the brutal environment of Honey Prison and the eccentric behavior of its warden.

He treats visitors respectfully and explains the facility to Toriko and Komatsu without indulging in unnecessary intimidation. His unusual appearance therefore creates a misleading first impression.

Oban is loyal to Love and continues treating her with respect even when her behavior becomes frustrating. At the same time, he is willing to acknowledge that her personal crush on Zebra is complicating what should otherwise be an administrative decision.

His concern appears to be maintaining Honey Prison's proper operation rather than asserting personal power over its inmates or staff.

Canon does not provide Oban with a named combat technique, Gourmet Cell ability, or extended battle scene.

His position as assistant warden of Honey Prison nevertheless indicates substantial authority within the IGO prison system. He has access to highly dangerous areas, understands the facility's execution beasts and security protocols, and can authorize actions under Love's direction.

Honey Prison houses criminals far beyond ordinary human capability, including Zebra, so Oban's ability to operate routinely in that environment demonstrates significant composure and institutional experience even when direct fighting ability remains undefined.

He should therefore be treated primarily as a senior prison official rather than assigned unsupported supernatural powers.

Oban welcomes Toriko and Komatsu upon their arrival at Honey Prison during the preparations to release Zebra.

He escorts the pair through the prison and explains aspects of its organization, providing Komatsu with information about the facility's unusual structure and inmates.

When they reach Love's office, Oban reveals that one of the largest practical obstacles to releasing Zebra is the warden's own infatuation with him. Love eventually proceeds to Zebra's cell after the necessary discussions.

Zebra eliminates the execution beasts assigned around him, after which Love gives Oban the order to complete his release.

Oban later appears among the people seeing the Four Heavenly Kings and Komatsu off before their expedition into Gourmet World.

Love is Oban's superior at Honey Prison. He respects her authority while frequently serving as the more professional administrator between them.

Zebra is Honey Prison's most famous inmate and the prisoner whose release Oban helps process.

Toriko and Komatsu are escorted through Honey Prison by Oban when they arrive to secure Zebra's release.
