Nude

Nude is crafty, self-interested, evasive, and quick to lie when threatened. When Tokio identifies him during Operation Old Market, Nude immediately attempts an elaborate excuse before resorting to his cards and fleeing.

His power suits his willingness to gamble. Rather than guaranteeing a particular outcome, Nude accepts the danger of drawing from a varied deck because the uncertainty itself strengthens his cards.

Spending time with Palma and Yamato Mori gradually softens his selfishness. He develops genuine concern for people he initially had little reason to help and becomes capable of maintaining friendships that are not purely transactional.

Nude uses a deck whose cards activate supernatural effects when exposed. He can manipulate the contents of the deck to improve the likelihood of drawing a desired result, but reducing the element of chance also reduces the cards' power.

Known cards include Red Card, which ejects targets from an area; Mini Card, which shrinks them; Stone Card, which immobilizes them; Spark Card, which produces electricity; Dance Card, which forces dancing; Bomb and Blaze cards for destructive attacks; and Share Card, which transfers wounds.

Loser Card harms Nude himself and can cancel other active card effects. By deliberately keeping dangerous outcomes in his deck, Nude increases the risk of each draw and consequently strengthens the ability as a whole.

Yamato Mori identifies Nude after Palma Shishinegura explains that opium can be refined into morphine and helps Tokio's team locate a black-market seller. Tokio, Michael Es, and Michelangelo Deroginev Cembaletta San Sei intercept Nude during a delivery.

Nude draws Red Card and ejects his pursuers from the Old Market before attempting to escape. His flight ends when a mysterious armored swordsman dismembers him.

Palma's powers subsequently allow Nude to continue playing a role despite those injuries, and his forced association with the group gradually develops into genuine loyalty. He eventually sides with Yamato Mori rather than remaining merely an Old Market dealer.

Palma Shishinegura initially provides Yamato Mori with information that leads them to Nude. Their later circumstances bring Nude and Palma much closer, and he becomes someone with whom Palma can discuss her feelings for Tokio.

Tokio Kurohara pursues Nude during Operation Old Market after tracing the opium trade to him.

Michael Es helps capture Nude by immobilizing him telekinetically during the pursuit.

Michelangelo Deroginev Cembaletta San Sei accompanies Tokio and Michael while investigating Nude's opium.
