Norisaku Madoka

Madoka initially behaves with the confidence and casual cruelty expected of an experienced criminal sorcerer. He is comfortable killing people who irritate him and approaches his assignment to retrieve Char as routine work, believing his record of victories makes him more than capable of handling Chihiro.

That confidence collapses once he experiences a decisive defeat. Madoka begins reconsidering the life he has chosen and remembers how his destructive sorcery brought stigma upon his mother and older sister, whose family became associated with a "bomb monster." His sister had driven him away after he committed himself to becoming a sorcerer, leaving him estranged from the family he still cares about.

After being interrogated by Shiba, Madoka decides to abandon sorcery and attempts to return home to reconcile with his family. The decision shows that his defeat genuinely changes his outlook rather than simply frightening him away from Chihiro.

Madoka's sorcery is called Invincible. It allows him to manifest daruma-shaped constructs from spirit energy and detonate them, producing powerful explosions. By calling "Invincible," he can rapidly deploy the dolls around a target and attack from positions that make avoiding every explosion difficult.

He can create multiple daruma simultaneously and manipulate their placement during combat. The technique gives him considerable destructive potential and had apparently allowed him to maintain an undefeated record before meeting Chihiro.

Madoka is nevertheless badly outmatched by Enten. Chihiro's speed and ability to cut through his attacks allow him to close the distance, exposing the limitations of Madoka's sorcery against an opponent wielding an Enchanted Blade.

Madoka appears after Char becomes involved with Chihiro and Hinao. Sojo has been searching for Char because of the unusual regenerative properties inherited through the Kyonagi Clan, and he orders Madoka to retrieve her discreetly.

Madoka tracks Chihiro and Char to a soba restaurant and launches his attack there. Chihiro protects Char and pursues him through the city, eventually defeating him. Togo Shiba subsequently interrogates Madoka for information about Sojo and the criminal sorcerers pursuing the girl.

Madoka resolves to quit being a sorcerer and returns to his family home, only to discover that Sojo has already killed his mother and sister. Sojo then kills Madoka as punishment for failing his assignment and attempting to abandon the underworld.

Genichi Sojo employs Madoka to retrieve Char. Madoka initially works for him as a criminal sorcerer, but Sojo murders Madoka and his family after Madoka fails the assignment and decides to leave his criminal life behind.

Char Kyonagi is the target Madoka is ordered to capture because Sojo wants access to her extraordinary regenerative abilities.

Chihiro Rokuhira defeats Madoka while protecting Char. The loss shatters Madoka's confidence in the path he has chosen and prompts him to reconsider his life.

Togo Shiba interrogates Madoka after his defeat, using harsh methods to obtain information about Sojo and the people hunting Char.
