Naghul'n

Naghul'n is quiet and obedient, generally following Damemaru's directions without speaking aloud. Avakian and Shimada Death initially expect it to behave more like a conversational Package, making its silence conspicuous.

Damemaru nevertheless describes Naghul'n as his friend rather than simply equipment. Their coordination is close enough that the Package can act independently when Damemaru is incapacitated.

The two can communicate mentally with one another, confirming that Naghul'n possesses awareness despite rarely expressing it outwardly.

Naghul'n can transform from backpack-like Package form into a humanoid creature and then wrap around Damemaru as chitinous battle armor. Its segmented body gives the resulting armor substantial protection.

It can fly while in Package form, functioning as a jetpack for Damemaru or moving independently. Its hands can reshape into specialized tools that Damemaru uses when hacking technological systems.

Naghul'n also shares thoughts directly with Damemaru through a limited telepathic connection.

Naghul'n initially appears as Damemaru's unusual Package and continues acting even while its companion is severely incapacitated. During the escape from the Lighthead facility, it helps Damemaru access systems and leave with Sanko's group.

After Damemaru joins the Hateful Four, Naghul'n accompanies him aboard Moja.

Later revelations establish that Naghul'n was originally a living creature Damemaru encountered long ago. Damemaru saved it by fusing it with a Package, and even he does not know exactly what kind of being Naghul'n originally was. Its ability to endure Darkness without becoming a Shadow further deepens the mystery.

Hajime Damemaru is Naghul'n's lifelong companion. Damemaru saved Naghul'n in the distant past by combining its dying body with a Package.

Avakian is another Package and is surprised by Naghul'n's unusual transformations and apparent silence.

Zaha Sanko and Shimada Death become Naghul'n's travelling companions after Damemaru joins their group.

Moja carries Naghul'n and the Hateful Four during their travels.
