Moka

Moka is emotional, impatient, stubborn, and intensely protective of Galuna Island's residents. His insistence that Fairy Tail destroy the moon is irrational on its face, but it grows from years of believing the villagers are suffering under a supernatural curse.

He repeatedly pressures the mages when they investigate alternatives rather than immediately carrying out his stated request. Moka has little patience for explanations that seem to contradict what he believes he has witnessed every night.

His strongest emotions concern his family and villagers. He mourns Bobo intensely and initially refuses to leave the place he believes marks his son's death.

Moka possesses Transformation Magic. His natural form is that of a Demon, while the human appearance he and the villagers consider normal for most of the arc is actually a magical transformation.

Like the other Galuna Island Demons, he can also manifest wings and fly.

The series does not portray Moka as a dedicated combatant. His magical abilities are racial and transformative rather than techniques he uses in serious battles.

Moka welcomes Natsu, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, and Happy after they arrive on Galuna Island. He has the villagers reveal their partially transformed bodies and explains that exposure to the purple moon causes their condition to worsen at night.

Moka claims that some villagers can lose their humanity permanently and cites Bobo as an example. He therefore insists that Fairy Tail destroy the moon itself, rejecting less direct solutions.

The villagers eventually discover that their understanding of the curse is backwards. They have always been Demons who can transform into humans; Moon Drip's magical veil interfered with their memories and made them believe their human appearances were their true bodies.

Bobo returns alive and explains that Moka's attempt to kill him failed because their Demon bodies are far more resilient than Moka remembered. Father and son reconcile, and Moka offers Fairy Tail the promised payment after the island's memories are restored.

Bobo is Moka's son. Moka mistakenly believes Bobo has permanently transformed into a monster and stabs him, only to discover later that Bobo survived and had actually remembered their species' true nature before everyone else.

Lulu is one of the villagers Moka represents as chief.

Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Gray Fullbuster, and Happy accept the S-Class request to resolve the island's supposed curse.

Erza Scarlet later arrives to retrieve the unauthorized team and becomes involved in the final resolution of the mission.
