Misetani Box

Misetani is shrewd, opportunistic and proud of her ability to maintain a smiling poker face. She regards Sanko and Avakian as excellent customers while simultaneously looking for opportunities to make a particularly favorable trade.

Her composure is not absolute. Shimada Death can intimidate her, and unexpected reversals in a deal can make her much more expressive than her usual permanent smile suggests.

Misetani takes her business seriously. She maintains an assortment tailored to the needs of creatures travelling through Darkness and remembers what her regular customers are likely to require.

Misetani can be summoned through Misetani's Toll, a small bell she sells to Sanko. Ringing it in a dark and suitably foreboding location allows her to arrive with her shop, saving customers a journey back into Darkness.

She carries a large metal spear connected to her shop box, although the manga has not established the extent of her combat ability.

Her most important resource is her inventory. Misetani sells Skin and Flesh of Darkness, Bones of Darkness, Dark Cores and specialized Dark weapons that can affect enemies resistant to conventional equipment.

Sanko and Avakian visit Misetani while seeking a Dark Core needed to complete their spacecraft. They trade the bones and flesh accumulated during Sanko's fights for the Core and additional supplies.

Misetani becomes a recurring supplier once Sanko obtains Misetani's Toll. This proves especially useful when the group needs Dark equipment without being able to return to her normal shop.

She later encounters Hajime Damemaru and Shimada during the Lighthead conflict. Her willingness to buy almost anything useful repeatedly turns the group's grisly circumstances into potential business transactions.

Zaha Sanko is one of Misetani's best customers, regularly exchanging collected bones for Dark equipment.

Avakian handles many of the group's negotiations with Misetani and is sometimes targeted by her attempts to secure an advantageous deal.

Shimada Death is an old acquaintance whom Misetani regards as a poor customer because the powerful God of Death rarely needs to buy anything.

Hajime Damemaru becomes involved in one of Misetani's stranger prospective transactions when the others bring his badly damaged body to her.
