Mirajane Strauss

Mirajane is warm, patient, cheerful, and unusually tolerant of Fairy Tail's constant arguments and property damage. She often takes on a maternal role within the guild, serving drinks, giving advice, explaining guild customs to newcomers, and defusing situations with an easy smile. Her kindness is sincere rather than a mask, although traces of her old temper remain whenever someone threatens people she loves.

As a child and young teenager, Mirajane was considerably rougher. She was confrontational, competitive, and notorious for fighting with Erza Scarlet. Her change in temperament followed the Strauss family's most traumatic experience and left her reluctant to access the power associated with that period of her life.

Mirajane is fiercely protective of her siblings and guildmates. Even after adopting her gentler personality, enemies who harm Elfman Strauss or Lisanna Strauss can bring out the ruthless fighter behind her nickname.

Mirajane uses Take Over, specifically Satan Soul, allowing her to transform her body into powerful demonic forms and reproduce their abilities. Her standard Satan Soul grants tremendous increases in magical power, physical strength, speed, durability, flight, and destructive capability.

Her transformations include Satan Soul, Satan Soul: Halphas, Satan Soul: Sitri, and later forms obtained from particularly dangerous demons. Some grant specialized abilities in addition to raw power, making Mirajane far more versatile than her early years behind the bar suggest.

Even without transformation, she possesses substantial magical reserves and physical ability. Her S-Class rank places her among Fairy Tail's elite, and when she resumes serious fighting she can overwhelm opponents who underestimate her because of her normally peaceful role.

Mirajane initially functions as one of the guild's principal supporting figures, introducing Lucy Heartfilia to Fairy Tail's culture and frequently providing information about other members. Her history as an elite mage becomes more important during the Battle of Fairy Tail.

When Fried Justine threatens Elfman and attacks Mirajane, the emotional shock breaks through the restraint she has placed on her combat abilities. She resumes using Satan Soul and demonstrates why Fairy Tail once called her "The Demon."

The incident that caused Mirajane to stop fighting was Lisanna's apparent death during a Strauss siblings mission. Elfman lost control of a full-body Take Over and struck Lisanna, leaving both surviving siblings convinced she had died. Lisanna was actually transported to Edolas and later returns to Earth Land, allowing the Strauss siblings to reunite.

Mirajane subsequently becomes a regular high-level combatant during Fairy Tail's larger conflicts, contributing against Grimoire Heart, Tartaros, the Alvarez Empire, and later enemies.

Elfman Strauss is Mirajane's younger brother. She supports him through the guilt and fear surrounding his Take Over magic and remains fiercely protective of him.

Lisanna Strauss is Mirajane's younger sister. Mirajane's belief that Lisanna had died profoundly changed her personality and willingness to fight, while Lisanna's return restores the Strauss family.

Erza Scarlet was Mirajane's principal childhood rival in Fairy Tail. Their frequent fights were legendary among the guild's younger generation, though they become close and dependable comrades as adults.

Lucy Heartfilia quickly receives Mirajane's friendship and guidance after joining Fairy Tail.

Makarov Dreyar is Mirajane's guild master and one of the people who recognizes the full extent of her ability.
