Masaomi Shuutou

Shuutou is extremely shy and self-conscious, particularly because of his stutter. He speaks reluctantly and can appear intimidating before someone realizes how uncomfortable he is with social attention.

His personality changes noticeably in competition. Shuutou can become intense and angry in the ring, allowing him to apply his enormous strength without the hesitation seen in ordinary conversation.

That aggression does not carry over once a match ends. When he hurts an opponent, his instinct is to apologize rather than celebrate, revealing the considerate temperament underneath his imposing appearance.

Shuutou's greatest advantage is his extraordinary mass and physical strength. At 188 kg, he can absorb attacks that would move lighter wrestlers and force opponents to expend enormous energy simply trying to alter his position.

His sumo is reactive rather than recklessly aggressive. Shuutou can wait for an opponent to commit to an attack and then use their momentum against them, making careless charges particularly dangerous.

His combination of patience and sheer weight means opponents cannot assume that attacking first will give them control. They must create a technically sound opening without allowing Shuutou to anchor himself or counter.

Shuutou represents Tottori Hakurou during the national competition, where the defending powerhouse fields a roster deep enough that even wrestlers outside its most famous National Treasures present serious problems.

His bout with Kei Mitsuhashi emphasizes the extreme physical differences possible in high-school sumo. Mitsuhashi cannot hope to compete with Shuutou through direct strength and must instead approach the match strategically.

The encounter also gives Shuutou personal characterization beyond his size, as his concern after injuring Mitsuhashi reveals how different he is outside the competitive environment.

Shidou Tennouji is Shuutou's captain at Tottori Hakurou High School.
