Lujon

Lujon is compassionate and earnest in his desire to cure the people around him. The Fossil Disease places him in a situation where conventional medicine offers little hope, making the extraordinary power offered by Lust difficult to refuse.

He is also emotionally impulsive. His gratitude and fascination with Lust develop into romantic obsession despite his existing relationship with Lydia. The resemblance Lust evokes to someone from her own buried past further complicates their interactions.

Lujon does not initially understand that his medical crisis has been deliberately engineered. His choices occur within circumstances created specifically to make a capable alchemist desperate enough to seek increasingly powerful forms of alchemy.

Lujon practices medicinal alchemy and can treat physical injuries and illness. His ordinary ability is enhanced substantially by the Red Stone embedded in the ring provided by Lust.

With the Stone's power, he can temporarily suppress the Fossil Disease and restore afflicted villagers. The treatment appears miraculous enough to convince Lujon that the Red Stone offers the path toward saving the entire community.

The Stone is not a complete Philosopher's Stone, however, and Lujon's dependence upon it leaves his apparent cure tied to a limited external resource.

Lujon's history with Lust begins two years before his principal appearance. The Fossil Disease is ravaging his village, and his efforts to find a cure have failed. Lust provides him with a Red Stone, enabling him to treat Lydia and other victims.

The outbreak was deliberately encouraged by the Homunculi. Envy explains that the objective was to create enough suffering and desperation that an alchemist such as Lujon might attempt to manufacture a genuine Philosopher's Stone.

When Lujon meets Lust again, his unresolved feelings return. Lust ultimately kills him, describing their relationship as a mistake after his affection begins stirring memories connected to the human woman from whom Lust originated. The loss of his Red Stone coincides with the renewed Fossil Disease devastating the village.

Lydia is Lujon's fiancée and one of the people whose illness motivates his search for a cure. His attraction to Lust damages their relationship despite Lydia's continued devotion to him.

Lust gives Lujon the Red Stone that allows him to treat the Fossil Disease. His resemblance in manner to Scar's brother awakens fragments of emotion connected to Lust's human origin, but she ultimately rejects those feelings and kills him.

Envy participates in the scheme surrounding Lujon's village. Envy reveals that the disease was deliberately used to push alchemists toward attempting to create a Philosopher's Stone.

Edward Elric, Alphonse Elric and Winry Rockbell encounter Lydia while searching for the Ishbalan refugees and accompany her back toward Lujon's village.

Scar's Brother never directly interacts with Lujon, but Lujon reminds Lust of the man whose attempt to resurrect his lover created her, helping trigger memories and emotions she has struggled to understand.
