Kuaidul Velgear

Kuaidul is theatrical, egotistical and extraordinarily manipulative. He frequently announces himself with grandiose titles and takes obvious satisfaction in arranging events so that other people unknowingly contribute to his plans.

He is fascinated by Rush Dueling because it produces possibilities he did not anticipate. Rather than viewing people simply as opponents, Kuaidul studies their behavior and tries to convert their relationships, memories and choices into components of his own elaborate games.

Beneath his confidence lies considerable insecurity. His feelings toward Yudias are shaped by jealousy over the circumstances of their creation and by his uncertainty about whether he possesses the same emotional qualities he observes in other people.

Kuaidul possesses extraordinary Velgearian abilities, including levitation, energy manipulation and the use of a Velgearian energy sword. His age and unusual origin also give him knowledge unavailable to most members of his species.

He is capable of manipulating minds and perceptions. His Darkness cards can corrupt Duelists, while his control over the Relic allows him to influence phenomena involving people being transformed into cards.

Kuaidul's first unusual Deck is constructed around the people caught within his plan, with Transam Praime Armor Nova serving as his personal ace. He later develops a dedicated Praime Deck containing LIGHT counterparts of familiar monsters and introduces his own Praime Tribute Summoning concept.

After further experimentation, Kuaidul acquires knowledge of Ritual Summoning and later passes that knowledge to Yudias.

Kuaidul initially operates behind the events surrounding Earthdamar, MIK, the Relic and the Darkness cards. His existence is not immediately apparent to the protagonists, allowing other antagonists to appear responsible for conflicts he has quietly influenced.

Kuaidul eventually reveals that he is the first Velgearian created by the Creator and the prototype used in the creation of the rest of the artificial Velgearian race. He also helped create subsequent Velgearians, making his history fundamental to the origins of Yudias and his people.

His Kartios Project manipulates Phaser, the Relic and corrupted Duelists before culminating in the Kuaidul Spacetime, where the inhabitants of Mutsuba Town are effectively transformed into components of his Deck.

After his defeat by Yudias, Kuaidul merges with him and disappears, but later returns within Yudias and develops into an unconventional mentor rather than remaining purely an enemy.

Yudias Velgear becomes the central focus of Kuaidul's fascination. [Kuaidul envies the circumstances under which Yudias Velgear was created and ultimately merges with him; after returning, he increasingly acts as his mentor and introduces him to new forms of Summoning.](#spoiler)

Zweejo is another Velgearian whose actions Kuaidul manipulates. [Kuaidul impersonates the Creator when dealing with Zweejo, steering him toward Earth and exploiting his desire to change the fate of their people.](#spoiler)

Yuhi Ohdo directly challenges Kuaidul once his manipulation of Mutsuba Town comes to light. Their confrontations expose weaknesses in Kuaidul's assumptions about people and Rush Dueling.

Yuamu Ohdo recognizes Kuaidul as the figure behind many of the crises affecting the group and becomes another opponent of his plans.
