Personality
Personality
Kohza is courageous, outspoken, and strongly protective of vulnerable people. As a child, he confronts the king directly when sandstorms endanger his village, displaying both disrespect for ceremony and sincere concern for others.
He matures into a leader capable of commanding widespread loyalty. Kohza does not seek rebellion for personal advancement; he believes force has become necessary to save Arabasta from a government that appears indifferent to the drought.
His affection for Vivi and respect for Cobra persist beneath his anger. Once evidence of the conspiracy becomes clear, Kohza acts immediately to stop the fighting rather than defend his pride or position.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Kohza has no Devil Fruit ability or superhuman powers. He is a capable swordsman and experienced desert fighter, having survived years of unrest and led armed rebels against the royal army.
His greatest power is political influence. Kohza commands the trust of the rebel army, coordinates its movement from Katorea to Alubarna, and can redirect thousands of fighters when they are able to hear him.
He also possesses substantial endurance. Kohza continues trying to expose the conspiracy after suffering multiple gunshot wounds and severe blood loss.
Story Role
Story Role
As a child, Kohza leads the Suna Suna Clan, a group that initially quarrels with Nefertari Vivi before accepting her as a member. He moves to Yuba with Toto and other settlers after Nefertari Cobra supports the town’s development.
Years of drought, Dance Powder allegations, and attacks staged by Baroque Works turn Kohza into leader of the rebel army. He relocates the movement to Katorea and eventually orders an assault on Alubarna, believing negotiation has failed.
During the battle, Kohza learns that Baroque Works agents are firing on both armies. He reaches Cobra and Vivi and attempts to announce the truth, but Mr. 7 shoots him before he can stop the fighting. Kohza survives and continues signaling for peace until the conspiracy is exposed and rain returns. He later serves Arabasta in a government role, working to restore the kingdom alongside the royal administration.
Relationships
Relationships
Toto is Kohza’s father and the leader of Yuba’s original settlement. Kohza loves Toto, although they adopt opposing positions during the rebellion.
Nefertari Vivi is Kohza’s childhood friend and former member of the Suna Suna Clan. Their shared concern for Arabasta survives years of separation and places both on parallel efforts to stop the war.
Nefertari Cobra supports Kohza’s family and treats the boy’s outspokenness with patience. Kohza later rebels against Nefertari Cobra’s government because Baroque Works makes the king appear responsible for the drought.
Crocodile manipulates Kohza and the rebel army through manufactured evidence and infiltrators. Mr. 7 shoots Kohza when he attempts to reveal the plot.
