Kazuaki Sakurada

Sakurada receives no substantial characterization outside the game in which he participates. His role is primarily that of a younger baseball prospect called upon to fill a vacancy in Daimon's lineup.

Sakurada plays center field and is trusted with the leadoff position. Both assignments require useful athleticism: center field covers considerable defensive ground, while the first batter is expected to begin the offense effectively.

The story does not establish a signature batting technique, throwing ability or other specialized skill for him.

Sakurada appears during the second varsity-versus-prefab game. Daimon's original roster has changed, forcing him to use middle-school players in several positions.

Sakurada replaces Miki in center field and bats first. The reconstructed varsity loses the game 2–0 to Maeno's prefab squad, bringing Daimon's control of Seishuu's baseball program to an end.

Shuugo Daimon uses Sakurada as part of his reconstructed varsity for the decisive rematch.

Tatsumasa Miki is the original varsity center fielder whose position Sakurada fills.

Tomoya Yamaguchi and Koji Mori are fellow middle-school players brought into the same varsity lineup.
