Karasu

Karasu is calm, sadistic and unnervingly fascinated by destruction. He rarely displays conventional anger, preferring to speak quietly even while threatening or injuring others.

His attraction to beauty is intertwined with a desire to destroy it. This fixation becomes particularly pronounced with Kurama, whom Karasu regards as an especially appealing target precisely because he wants to see him broken.

Karasu is also confident in the unusual nature of his powers. Because many opponents cannot see his bombs before they detonate, he is accustomed to controlling the pace of a fight and watching enemies struggle to understand how they are being attacked.

Karasu creates explosives from his demon energy. Many of these bombs are invisible to fighters whose spiritual perception is insufficient to detect them, allowing him to detonate attacks without an obvious physical projectile.

His Touch Bombs can be placed directly onto a target through contact. He can also create mobile explosives, including winged bombs capable of pursuing opponents.

Karasu normally wears a mask over his mouth because it helps regulate his power. Removing it allows him to access greater energy and causes his hair to change appearance as his aura intensifies.

His most dangerous explosives can saturate an area with multiple simultaneous threats, making simple evasion extremely difficult.

Karasu enters the Dark Tournament finals as Kurama's opponent. Before their match, he deliberately intimidates Kurama and makes clear that he has studied his abilities.

Kurama responds by arranging to use the Fruit of the Previous Life, hoping to temporarily restore the vastly stronger body of Yoko Kurama. The match therefore becomes a contest between Karasu's invisible explosives and Kurama's increasingly dangerous demonic plants.

Kurama successfully transforms into Yoko and overwhelms Karasu for a time, but the transformation ends before the match is settled. Karasu regains the advantage and inflicts severe injuries. Kurama ultimately uses his own blood to grow the Ojigi Plant, which kills Karasu. Because Kurama remains down for the referee's count, however, Karasu is officially awarded the match despite dying.

Kurama becomes the focus of Karasu's destructive fascination and his opponent in the Dark Tournament finals. Kurama ultimately kills him with the Ojigi Plant despite officially losing their match by count-out.

Bui previously challenges the Toguro brothers alongside Karasu. Both lose and subsequently join their organization with the expectation of someday becoming strong enough for another challenge.

Toguro Otouto defeats Karasu before the Dark Tournament and later becomes his teammate and superior.
