Personality
Personality
Kaite is intelligent, resourceful and initially defensive about the choices he has made. His difficult circumstances have taught him to survive independently, even when that means working with criminals.
He also retains a strong emotional connection to his father and the Flourish. Beneath his attempts to behave like a hardened accomplice, Kaite remains a child struggling with abandonment, loneliness and grief.
Vash treats him with unusual patience, giving Kaite room to make a better choice rather than simply condemning him for helping the Bad Lads.
Abilities & Powers
Abilities & Powers
Kaite has extensive knowledge of the Flourish's internal systems because his father designed the vessel. He understands routes and mechanisms that make him useful during the Bad Lads' attempt to seize the ship.
He is resourceful enough to operate independently and move through dangerous environments despite his age. He does not possess superhuman combat abilities and is not presented as a gunfighter comparable to Vash or Neon.
His greatest asset is technical knowledge, particularly when the hijacking threatens the sand steamer's passengers and machinery.
