Kagetora

Kagetora is loyal, brave, expressive, and remarkably tolerant of Yaiba's reckless behavior. He frequently follows the boy into dangerous situations without hesitation.

His reactions also provide comedy. Kagetora can display fear, irritation, surprise, and exasperation with enough clarity that the other characters understand his intentions even without ordinary human speech.

He becomes particularly comfortable around the Mine household and Yaiba's other companions, functioning more like a member of the group than a conventional pet.

Kagetora possesses the natural physical abilities of a large tiger, including considerable strength, speed, agility, claws, teeth, and powerful jumping ability.

Yaiba frequently rides on his back, allowing Kagetora to function as rapid transportation during journeys and battles. He can also directly attack enemies when necessary.

His intelligence is unusually high for an ordinary animal. Kagetora understands complicated situations and instructions and can coordinate his actions with Yaiba's group.

Kagetora accompanies Yaiba to Japan and remains with him after Yaiba begins living with the Mine family. He subsequently joins the journey to obtain the Thunder God's Sword and the campaign against Onimaru.

As Yaiba's adventures expand beyond simple kendo rivalries into battles against demons and other supernatural enemies, Kagetora remains one of the most consistent members of his traveling party.

He also appears alongside the Yaiba cast in crossover material connected to Detective Conan.

Yaiba Kurogane is Kagetora's closest companion and regularly rides him during their adventures.

Kenjuro Kurogane is traveling with Yaiba when Kagetora becomes associated with them.

Sayaka Mine becomes another of Kagetora's regular companions after Yaiba settles at the Mine household.

Gerozaimon Geroda and Musashi Miyamoto travel alongside Kagetora during Yaiba's campaign against Onimaru.
