Julius

Julius is earnest, compassionate and determined to abandon the caravan's criminal business. He wants an ordinary future with Moore rather than the wealth available through continuing his current life.

His willingness to run away places him in direct danger, but he refuses to abandon Moore when armed pursuers close in. He is also troubled by the nature of the caravan's business and wants no further part in it.

Julius's initial understanding of his family is shaped by what he has been told by the caravan owner, leaving him vulnerable to manipulation over both his identity and his value to the organization.

Julius is an ordinary human and carries a Marlon Special .38 handgun. He is willing to defend Moore and himself, although he is not presented as a gunfighter on the level of Vash or Wolfwood.

The mark on his left arm has practical importance because it permits passage into Fondrique. That access makes Julius strategically valuable to the caravan.

His greatest strength during the episode is his willingness to reject the profitable but exploitative life offered to him and risk escape with Moore.

Julius and Moore flee the caravan after Julius decides he wants no part in its activities. Nicholas D. Wolfwood and Milly Thompson encounter the couple, while Vash the Stampede is hired to bring Julius back.

The caravan's merchandise includes enslaved people, with Moore herself treated as property. Julius's supposed father wants him back partly because the mark on Julius's arm provides access to Fondrique.

The caravan owner is not Julius's biological father. Julius's actual father is Fondrique's mayor, and Vash's apparent attack on Julius and Moore is a deception using rubber bullets that allows the couple to escape and begin a life together.

Moore is Julius's lover and the person with whom he attempts to escape the caravan.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood becomes involved in helping Julius and Moore escape from their pursuers.

Milly Thompson sympathizes with the couple and helps Moore hide from the caravan.

Vash the Stampede is hired to retrieve Julius. Vash instead engineers a deception that allows Julius and Moore to escape safely.
