Joey Fullborn

Joey is enthusiastic about bodybuilding and trains every day without exception. His dedication is partly practical because the effectiveness of Muscle Speak depends on the caster maintaining a well-conditioned body.

He also participates in bodybuilding contests and once removes a chest tattoo with a potion so he can meet competition requirements.

Despite the intimidating physique, Joey explicitly dislikes bullying. His rivalry with Wan is competitive rather than hostile, growing out of the friendship the two formed after joining Fairy Tail around the same period.

Joey uses Muscle Speak, a support Magic that increases the muscle mass of nearby allies through incantations. The enhancement can strengthen people around him rather than simply changing Joey's own body.

The spell's efficiency depends on the caster's physical conditioning, which explains Joey's obsessive daily exercise and highly developed physique.

His extensive bodybuilding also gives him significant ordinary physical strength, although the series focuses more on the support properties of Muscle Speak than on named personal attacks.

Joey appears during the Phantom Lord conflict, remaining with Fairy Tail as Jose Porla's mobile guild attacks Magnolia. He watches the escalating battle alongside the other guild members and is present when Lucy's capture is revealed.

During the Battle of Fairy Tail, Joey becomes one of the guild members forced into combat by Laxus's rules. He fights Wan directly, with Wan ultimately winning their confrontation.

Joey remains part of Fairy Tail through later guild gatherings and welcomes Wendy and Carla into the guild alongside his friends.

He does not return when Fairy Tail is re-established in X792, and canon does not disclose his subsequent occupation or whereabouts.

Wan Chanzi is Joey's close friend and longstanding rival. They joined Fairy Tail around the same time, and their rivalry culminates in a direct Battle of Fairy Tail fight.

Wendy Marvell is one of the younger mages Joey helps welcome into Fairy Tail.

Carla joins the guild alongside Wendy and is present at the same welcome gathering.

Jose Porla commands Phantom Lord during the war in which Joey helps support Fairy Tail.
