Jiro

Jiro shares the mild and family-oriented disposition associated with Hedoro and his relatives. His appearance naturally frightens the residents of Edo, but this fear is based far more on assumptions than his actual conduct.

He values his family and participates comfortably in their ordinary activities. The contrast between this domestic temperament and the family's monstrous physical appearance supplies most of the comedy surrounding him.

Jiro belongs to the same physically powerful Amanto species as Hedoro. Members of the family possess enormous natural strength and durability even when they have no intention of fighting.

His intimidating body therefore represents genuine physical potential, although Jiro is not established as a dedicated warrior.

The family's connection to plants and flowers also reflects their peaceful everyday life, with floristry taking precedence over combat.

Jiro appears as part of Hedoro's extended family, expanding what had initially seemed to be the story of one frightening-looking but gentle alien into an entire household of similarly intimidating relatives.

Goro and Shiro are Jiro's brothers and fellow members of the same Amanto household.
