Jeremy Watt

Watt is friendly, enthusiastic and deeply interested in Japanese culture. His enthusiasm exceeds his actual knowledge, leaving him with misconceptions and awkward translations.

He accepts correction without hostility, distinguishing his mistakes from deliberate mockery. His interest is sincere even when the information behind it is inaccurate.

Watt is also comfortable with computers and video games. These interests fit the calculating side of his receiving role, particularly when dealing with the unusual trajectory of the Shuttle Pass.

Watt is NASA's best wide receiver. His 4.8-second 40-yard dash gives him good speed, and his height provides an additional advantage against shorter receivers such as Monta.

His most specialized ability is predicting the landing point of Homer's Shuttle Pass. The throw travels extremely high, requiring Watt to calculate where the football will descend and position himself precisely beneath it.

That coordination makes the pass function almost like a launch-and-recovery system, with Watt acting as the receiver who completes Homer's extreme throwing concept.

Watt accompanies the NASA Aliens to Japan and serves as their interpreter, allowing the American team to communicate with Deimon and others despite his imperfect command of Japanese culture.

His role on the field is more serious. NASA's passing attack relies on Homer's arm strength and Watt's ability to locate the resulting high-arcing throws.

He also becomes one of the teammates supporting Panther during the latter's difficulties with Apollo, helping establish that the coach's treatment of Panther is not shared by the entire team.

Homer Fitzgerald is Watt's quarterback. Watt's ability to calculate the landing point of Homer Fitzgerald's Shuttle Pass makes their combination one of NASA's principal offensive weapons.

Patrick Spencer is one of Watt's closest teammates, and Watt supports him through the discrimination he faces within the team.
